When a person who has lived in the depths of sin gets to hear for the first time of the profound love and sacrifice give n by the Son of God for the price of redemption, the overwhelming power of God's love will undoubtedly reduce you to putty in his hands. As for me the fact that Jesus was willing to as we used to say "Take A Bullet For Me", did and has sense been the motivating factor that started my footsteps and heartbeat to follow his. After Pilate had crumbled under the pressure of the people to crucify him , Pilate would stop short by sending him to be beat within an inch of his life. Physically beaten , but spiritually paying the full price for our healing. As scripture put it he was led as a lamb to the slaughter , opening not his mouth. He took the beating and stood at attention , not before Pilate but , before his Father as an unblemished lamb being sacrificed for the sins of a Alabama drug addict. Each time that he was struck, I can not only imagine the pain, but also the satisfaction that healing would never cost another dime. As he stood there in what seemed to be a weak state , the pow er of his meekness would prove to be not only devastating to the kingdom of hell, but an eternal example to all of us on how to exercise the weapon of power under control for the sake of the greater good and the glory of God. He that has been forgiven much, loves much and truly Lord I love you for never saying a mumbling word when you had everything and every right to speak, standing still when everything in you wanted to move and for once and for all paying in full the debt required to set me free and free indeed.
